Onbekend maar niet vergeten

On Friday the 6th and Saturday the 7th of March, the Kunstorkest will play a concert full of music from composers such as Giovanni Legrenzi and Domenico Scarlatti. Also solo concerts will be played, with our own members as solists!

On the 28th of March, the Kunstorkest played a remarkable concert during the UUnited festival in Tivolivredenburg, Utrecht with the famous TV-chef Rudolph van Veen. During the concert we traversed the boundaries between coocking and music making. It was a concert full of tasty notes, sweet harmonies and spicey solos.

In between art and kitchen The student baroque orchestra Het Kunstorkest will give two concerts this spring in Utrecht, on the 15th and 16th of March. In these concerts we will traverse the boundaries between two activities we cherish: cooking and making music. The repertoire of the Baroque era provides ample opportunities for this. Lonesome but not alone

Soloconcerts from the 18th century On Friday the 30th of November and Sunday 2 December, the Kunstorkest will play its beautiful winter programme. Apart from an orchestral piece by Fux, three solo concertos will be played. While being accompanied by the orchestra, the soloists from the Kunstorkest will reach new musical heights. In search of DRAMA

With rising temperatures come rising emotions. This summer the Kunstorkest performs a dramatic programme. All states and affections of the human psyche will be in a expressed in a number of beautiful overtures. Solist Meike Wijma will sing some highly charged arias, which will inspire some improvised theater by members of theatersportgroup Aangenaam Verrast. England, The Enchanted Island

On 2 and 3 March we played the Overture from Ode for St. Cecilia’s Day by Handel, the Suite from The Fairy Queen by Purcell and parts from Île Enchantée by Lully. The concerts took place in the Zuiderkapel in Bilthoven and the Singelkerk in Utrecht, en were made possible by U-fonds and Stichting Carel Nengermans Fonds.

Winter Concert

At the start of the winter the Kunstorkest is showing off its own soloist talent. We will be playing the energetic concerto for two oboes Opus 9 No. 6 in G major by Albinoni, and the intense La Follia by Vivaldi. Last but not least is the piano concerto in D major by Haydn, ending in a frantic rondo of Balkan dances.
